My Journey on YouTube: Overcoming Challenges and Finding Success

Starting YouTube Channel can be a daunting task, but for me, it was a leap of faith that led to an amazing experience and personal growth. This is my story of how I turned my passion for creating videos into a successful journey on YouTube.

I started this channel to make and upload funny videos with my friends as a hobby during school holidays. However, the journey was not without its challenges. In beginning, we found it difficult to find the necessary camera equipment and ideas for the videos. To overcome the challenges, I sought out guidance and inspiration from other successful YouTubers. I also made a concerted effort to improve the quality of my content, experimenting with different styles and formats until I found what worked best for me.

I kept uploading videos but did not get the expected audience responses. So I was bit behind. At the same time, sadly, the editor of our channel has left. Due to these reasons, I had stopped the YouTube channel for some time. So after my AL Examination, I started uploading content to YouTube again. There I changed the video category from Funny Videos to Educational Videos. At that time, I received a significant amount of views and with time it was lagging behind. Link to that channel.

In addition to this channel, I tried several channels in different categories and created a Sinhala educational Youtube channel for my Sinhala tuition class teacher. Its name is "අකීකරු සිංහල පන්තිය". It become popular among people faster than I expected. So within a short period of ten months, it crossed the first 10000 subscribers and for that, I was able to get the Monetization (YPP) facility. So already I am running it as a successful monetization channel.

In addition, when I started working as an online freelancer I continued to work as the official editor for several of my foreign client's YouTube channels. They can be listed as follows.

So in this way, I was able to collect about 4 years of experience as a content creator, an official video editor, and a channel manager on YouTube. And also I am looking forward to getting the "Youtube Silver Play Botton" offered by YouTube next year.

LOOKING BACK, I am proud of the progress I have made and the community I have built on YouTube. The platform has allowed me to connect with amazing people from all over the world and to turn my passion into a career.

If you're just starting out on your YouTube journey, my advice is to stay true to yourself, be persistent, and never give up. The road to success is not always easy, but with hard work and dedication, you can achieve your goals and make a difference in the world through your content.
